Television Broadcast
The FBC Television Ministry presented
a 90-minute LIVE broadcast of The Living Christmas Tree 2013
on WHNT2 on Saturday, December 21 at 7:30 p.m. Watch the recording »

Advent and Christmas are all about the heart. The message is about the Love that extends from God’s heart to ours in the person and presence of Jesus Christ. Our theme for Advent and Christmas this year is “All My Heart,” a theme which clearly speaks to how we are to respond to God’s Love in Christ. We respond by loving God with all of our heart. The theme phrase also communicates the truth that all of God’s Heart can be found in us, the crown of God’s creation.

Each week in rehearsals with singers and instrumentalists I try to share passages of scripture or study and devotional materials that strengthen and inspire. One of the great quotes that I recently passed along to our music ministry participants came from a book by C. Welton Gaddy and Don W. Nixon which I was reading. Here is the passage that seemed to perfectly describe our experience with the Living Christmas Tree –

Advent causes believers to stand on the tiptoes of their souls, intently peering into an increasingly illuminated horizon to catch a glimpse of how God is coming among them again. Advent may prompt us to rub our eyes as we seek to adjust to darkness being dispelled by light; to rethink predictability as we observe the surprising movements of God; to set aside despair as we discover the reality of hope; to recover the worth of a promise as we find God faithfully fulfilling divine promises of the past; and to ready our spirits for a life -transforming encounter with love.

The 200-plus musicians and technicians that surround you today in the Living Christmas Tree each bring their heart into the presentation. It is our extraordinary gift to you each year at this time, a gift which speaks of the all-surpassing Gift of God we have discovered. We have found a “life-transforming encounter with love” this season and want to share it. Thanks be to God!

From our heart to yours,
