The FBC Orchestra is an integral part of First Baptist’s music ministries, serving as regular participants and leaders in worship and providing musical presence and support for many special presentations, including The Living Christmas Tree and the Spring/Easter concerts. Known throughout our city and region for its extraordinary programming of worship and concert repertoire, the FBC Orchestra was honored in 2006 by the invitation to perform a feature concert for the national meeting of the Baptist Church Music Conference and is looking forward to a 2015 appearance at the Celebrating Grace Music and Leadership Conference.  Recent highlights include a workshop with noted composer David Maslanka and featured leadership at the ten year anniversary / memorial concert for 9/11, attended by two thousand and still viewed online. Members of the FBC Orchestra come from all walks of life, representing a unique inter-generational blend of ages and musical backgrounds.  The group gathers each Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. to rehearse music that inspires the soul and enhances the worship of the congregation.
